TEXTSystem hints.
All of you may be an intensive
user of the Amiga, and especially if
you are using a lot of text programs
(involving mainly keyboard commands,
i.e. assemblers, word
processors...) you'll be glad to
learn some shortcuts which aren't
well known. First, there's a way to
move the Workbench screen front &
back with left Amiga-N for moving it
to front, and left Amiga-M for back,
the keys remain the same whatever
keymap is set (So, french user get
the WB to back shortcut with the
left Amiga-? combination). When
faced with a requester, instead of
stupidly clicking retry or cancel,
try respectively left Amiga-V and
left Amiga-N. These one are quite
known (and may be read in the
tutorial book you received with your
Amiga). I was told about the last
one by Antiriad. When using
intuition text gadgets (generally
one line of text you enter for a
parameter, a file-name, found almost
everywhere) you can clear the text
with right Amiga-X and sometimes if
the gadget allows it, right Amiga-A
to restore it. Now, a little
exercise : grab the CLI window, and
while keeping the left mouse button
down, press Left A-M and then Left
A-N. Now move the CLI, and
normally, it can now cross over the
screen limits !! (don't go too far,
however, you could crash the
system). It seems I found another
bug... TMS.
